Austin Seminar Dates

Austin Seminar Dates will be June 9th and 10th
Location details are still being finalized, but should be available soon.

There will also be some additional dates in the Houston area, information will be provided shortly.

I started this blog so we can keep everyone updated. If you have any questions, please ask.

I have attached a note from Kayce Cover, founder of SATS explaining what she will be talking about at the IACP Conference as well the topics to be covered in the June 9th and 10th Austin Seminars.

__________

From Kayce:

I am honored to be speaking at the IACP annual conference this year, 5-8 June, 2008, Hutto, Texas.

Immediately following the conference, on Monday, 9 June and Tuesday 10 June, there will be a seminar for a more in-depth look at Perception Modification

The seminar is "Behavior Modification and Behavior Issues"

It will feature getting relaxation on cue, and using Conditioned Relaxation and Cycles to address problems such as food guarding, vetanxiety, separation anxiety, dog to dog aggression, bitch to bitch aggression, and dog to human aggression. I am working on the format now. I can address all these in a superficial way, but can only address a certain number in depth, depending on time and dog availability (and risk mitigation). If you have a particular interest, please send it along.

During the IACP conference, I will introduce two major branches of SATS, Bridge and Target - non-verbal communication system that facilitates intensive verbal communication, and Perception Modification - teaching animals to cope with stressors and manage their emotions.

Kayce is hoping to customize the Austin "Behavior Modification and Behavior Issues" seminar dates to the interest and needs of those attending as best as time will allow. If you have a particular behavior that you would like to have covered, be be sure to post or e-mail so she is aware of this interest. Thank you.
